Before you start your renewal, we have gathered common questions and best practices for agencies while moving through the Certificate Renewal flow. For our tips & tricks, continue reading below!
Do not import your renewal policies within your Policies menu before starting your renewal.
The Certificate Hero renewal flow includes the ability to import the policies directly within the flow. Because you have already done the necessary renewal work in your AMS, Certificate Hero's renewal process allows you to pull through that renewal policy data, saving you time and extra unnecessary steps.
Do not create renewal LOB Profile templates within your LOB Profile manager before starting your renewal.
Creating the renewal LOB Profiles outside of the flow could cause confusion, and this too is an included steps within the Certificate Hero renewal flow. The system will create the renewal LOB profiles during the designated step, saving you time, confusion and extra unnecessary steps.
If you need to deactivate the expired LOB Profile template, wait until after the renewal has been completed so the system can find and renew the expiring LOB Profile template.
Do not create renewal COI Templates within your COI Template manager before starting your renewal.
No longer does your agency need to renew COI Template by COI Template!
The Certificate Hero renewal flow will create the renewal COI Templates during the designated step in the process. This will save you time, confusion and extra unnecessary steps.
Need to make a bulk change to certificates prior to your renewal? Save it for the renewal!
Before you start your renewal, do you need to update the certificate holder address for a Holder listed on multiple certificates? Or maybe you need to update the Named Insured on multiple certificates... Perhaps you need to make any type of change on 2 or more certificates prior to completing the renewal...
During the final step of the Certificate Hero renewal flow, have the opportunity to make bulk changes to multiple certificates before completing the renewal.

Re-written policy? Don’t forget this step!
If you're working with a re-written policy, make sure to head into Policy Manager and double-check your policy details.
You’ll want to edit the Policy Number, Insurer, and NAIC fields before moving forward. While Certificate Hero will bring in the new policy term and coverage info through our guardrails, we won’t override those original fields for you.
So if the new policy has different info—don’t worry, you can update it manually right in the Policy Editor.
