Multi-Select Property Drop Down Walkthrough

Learn how to create a new LOB profile, select multiple property locations, and apply the profile to generate certificates with auto-filled coverage details and multiple addresses.

Creating a New LOB Profile

To create a new LOB Profile, click the orange "Create Profile" button.

In the modal that populates, start by selecting the applicable data from the fields on the left.

ACORD Form: Select the ACORD form the LOB profile is being built for (e.g., 24, 27, 28).

  • Policy: Select the applicable policy. If you don’t see the policy you need, check the Policies Manager to ensure the policy exists in the Certificate Hero system.
  • LOB Type: Based on the policy chosen, you will have a list of associated lines of business to select from. Most of the time, the system will pre-select the appropriate LOB Type for you.
  • LOB Type Name: Enter the name of the policy—this is how it will be referenced on the ACORD form.
  • Profile Name: Enter a name for the profile—this is how it will be displayed in the LOB Profile Manager. Certificate Hero will automatically assign a prefix showing the year of the policy’s effective date for easy identification.
  • Set as Default: If needed, you can designate this LOB profile as the default. A default LOB profile is automatically selected during contract parsing when a contract requires a specific line of business.

Once you’ve completed these steps, the LOB creator will expand, and a modal will appear, allowing you to select the first property for your evidence of insurance.

Selecting Multiple Properties

The view will vary based on the ACORD form and line of business selected.

Once the first property has been selected, an "Additional Properties" section will appear, enabling you to select multiple locations at once.

  1. Click "Additional Properties" to expand the selection menu.
  2. Choose the applicable property locations to be included in the evidence of insurance.

Once you’ve selected the applicable property locations, you can then select the schedule of coverages you would like referenced on the certificate as well.

Auto-Population & Overflow Handling

As soon as you select the appropriate schedules, they will start to auto-fill in their designated placeholders within the LOB Profile Editor.

  • If the selected schedules exceed the available space on the ACORD form, Certificate Hero will automatically move the overflow information to the Certificate Hero 101 Overflow Page.

Saving & Generating the Certificate

Once you have finalized your LOB Profile selections:

  1. Click "Save and Continue" to save the profile.
  2. You can then proceed with generating your Evidence of Property Certificate.

Evidence of Insurance Creation

Once your LOB profile has been created, you can navigate to the Certificate Manager to create your certificate. You'll want to choose the appropriate ACORD form based on the LOB profile created.

Reminder: ACORD 27 and ACORD 28 LOB profiles are specific to their respective ACORD forms and cannot be used interchangeably on other ACORD forms.

After selecting your ACORD form, click the "Add Policy" button on the base ACORD form.

A modal will populate prompting you to use the dropdown to select your LOB profile. Once you've selected the correct LOB profile, you may view, edit, or simply press "Save" to have the profile populate the fields within the base ACORD form.

Once your certificate is complete, press "Review". You will be brought to the certificate review screen for final review and to issue your certificate accordingly.

Your completed certificate will populate multiple addresses, as seen below:
